From Squire to Knight: Accolades for the Class of 2020 from the Faculty

In the Middle Ages, the accolade was the central act in the rite of passage ceremonies that conferred knighthood upon squires who had completed their training. Among the ceremonial rituals involved in conferring knighthood, the accolade followed an all-night prayer vigil before the new knight was presented by his sponsors in a public ceremony and praised for his bravery. The Delone Catholic faculty has created a video accolade for the Class of 2020 as they go forth to "Be Doers of the Word" (James 1:22).
